Morgan Haas

Program Coordinator

(304) 293-0376

Morgan grew up in Elkins, West Virginia and spent her early years hiking around Otter Creek Wilderness Area, swimming in the Cheat River, and immersing herself in the culture of Appalachia. It wasn't until her undergraduate experience at WVU that she fully invested in a career that would allow her to continue chasing those outdoor experiences and creating opportunities for others to do so as well.

Upon graduating from WVU with a BA in Philosophy in 2015, Morgan spent 3 years as an Assistant Director for Dartmouth College's Outdoor Programs Office and spent a season as Interim Director at Harvard University's First-Year Outdoor Program. During that time, she focused on student leadership development, logistics, and risk management at a programmatic level. Throughout these years, her passion developed for working with students in an experiential education setting. She found fulfillment in providing an opportunity for students to challenge themselves and grow through experiences outside of the classroom.

With West Virginia calling her home in 2018, she returned to pursue her graduate degree in Higher Education Administration at WVU. While in school, Morgan worked for the Center for Service and Learning as an Operations Coordinator maintaining large-scale service projects and the AmeriCorps program.

At Davis College, Morgan's mission is to provide students with opportunities that allow them to step outside of their comfort zone, pursue their passions, and develop their pathway to success. With years of experience in student programming, she is an advocate for breaking down barriers and making value-added experiences accessible to each and every student. She coordinates Davis Leadership Academy and is an instructor for the Leadership Studies program at WVU. She is also a Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Master Educator, and instructs Wilderness First Aid.
